Everyone talks about it, and it’s true. Weight loss / control is all food control, more than exercise. And, food is all about portions.
The challenge is a psychological challenge. When we get in the habit of eating for reasons other than sustenance, that’s when we create mountains that are very difficult to reduce. When we eat to escape perceived sadness or boredom or loneliness, we are walking into a trap that is very difficult to escape. Our stomachs might be full, yet our hearts are continuously hungry. The hunger sets in when we are hit with the stimulus: the perceptions of sadness, boredom, laziness, etc..
That is the challenge.
The challenge with portions is the same challenge. It is the sense of satisfaction that we seek from the meals. Thus, not only are we eating to feed the hunger of the heart, with food, we might be gorging.
